Hi, and welcome to my new music blog. Here you’ll find the most recent information on mostly new rock news. Though it’s not nesscarily commited to ‘rock’ news. I listen to ALL types so that’ll be in here too. Along with my opinions and thoughts on the music world.
I guess I’ll start off with introducing myself and what I’m all about. My full name is Christina, but almost noone calls me that, so for you I’ll be Cici, and I almost always get nervous when I write these About Me tid bits. I constantly think what if they don’t like me, what if this ends up in uber fail, etc etc. So bare me some grief.
Music is possibly my number 1 hobby of all time. It’s something the world as a whole and enjoy and celebrate as a whole universally. That alone amazes me. But not as much as the feeling you feel when that certain lyric, or chord, or solo, rips through your soul like it’s known you your entire life. Which is most cases the composer doesn’t. Which is why throughout my high school career and trying to decide in which direction I wanted to lead my life, I chose music. Originally I wanted to be an Artist & Reptoire Agent. But with the ever changing ways of technology the job category is becoming impossibly small. So I switched over to Public Relations/Management within the Music Industry.
Who Am I? I’m 20 years old, and I attend Seneca @ York for Corporate Media Production, which in short is Production and Post and Pre-Production of Live Events.I’m born and raised in Toronto, Ontario.
What I Do For Fun? Generally speaking I’m am probably one of the most down to earth, outgoing, boyish girl you’ll ever meet. I do everything from Skiing (and attempting to learn how to snowboard), to playing video games (blame my brother and my best friend for that influence). I’m possibly the most active self-admitting lazy person in the world. Oxymoron? Yea that’s me. When it comes to Video Games I’ve played on almost every system from NES, to PS3, with the exception of handheld devices. Currently I’m playing on PS3, and PC. I’m a Nintendo fangirl at heart, but wasn’t exactly pleased with the Wii. I toy around with Graphic Design from time to time, along with Photoeditting and such. I’m big on Sci-Fi type movies, and movies based around comic book characters, music type movies are pretty awesome too if done correctly. I’m a passionate Vegetarian but I love food, espiecally vegetables. I enjoy the very little travelling I get to do due to low income, but I make the best out of it when I do get out of my dingy town. I’m an Astronomy freak, becoming an astronaut was actually my first career choice before I decided on music.
Why I decided to start this blog? I could say that I started this blog to gain face time and get my name out there to further my career. But that wouldn’t be entirely true. I realized there’s just to much to be discussed within the music industry that I could literally sit with a friend and talk their ear off for a good 4 hours. I needed someplace to write down my opinions, reflect on them, and dicuss them with other people. This blog is open for anyone, so if you wanna have a heated ‘knowledgable’ discussion about Nirvana and Kurt Cobain, I’m totally down with that. I’ve also realized that alot of out younger youth know absolutly nothing about the veterans of music from the 60’s to the 80’s. It’s also amazing how so many songs can personally relate to your life. I could probably relate to about 65% of my 60 GB music library, some that will make me happy, some that will make me sad, some that I refuse to listen to because it’ll make me cry. It’s the connection with those songs that make music such a vital part of life. It almost becomes like breathing. It says what you can’t, and allows you to express yourself without being completely exposed. I’ll quote my heading here. “Her favourite song will say more about her then her mouth ever will”, which is almost 90% of the time true. one song could say how much you love someone or care about them or hate them.
And here is where I end off, hope that you come back and share this magically journey with me.
